Dating Corner

 Reading Space is a digital platform that reimagines the dynamics of Chinese dating corners—public spaces where parents advertise their children’s information in search of a spouse, often without the children’s participation. The project addresses this generational tension by creating an online environment that reinserts the voices of the younger generation into the conversation.

To enter the site, at least three users must log in simultaneously, forming a collective reading session. Within the platform, participants can build shared folders and use banner-style motion tags derived from real dating corner materials. Two reading paths are offered: one that compiles and analyzes the evaluative frameworks of the older generation, and another that takes the form of a “dating info bible,” reflecting the language and perspectives of younger users.
